About this place
Salt, miso or curry? Tanmen at Ramen Senka comes in 4 varieties: salt, soy sauce, miso and curry. Choose according to your mood when you’re after a bowl with plenty of vegetables. One diner described the salt tanmen as a filling meal, with a light broth topped with a generous serving of cooked vegetables. Another said the amount of vegetables and their crisp texture stood out in the miso tanmen. The listed prices are 980 yen for salt, 960 yen for soy sauce, 1,030 yen for miso and 1,050 yen for curry. There’s a classic option for a vegetable-forward meal, as well as a curry-flavoured version.
For a different noodle texture, consider the sara udon. One diner who had it for lunch described a bed of crisp, thin noodles topped with a thick sauce and plenty of ingredients, including cabbage, bean sprouts, squid and pork. Add mustard or vinegar as you eat to change up the flavour. Sara udon is among the weekday-only lunch options, listed at 850 yen.
For some heat, try the tantan vegetable dipping noodles, served with spicy minced meat and vegetables. At lunchtime, there are set lunch options; in the evening, you can make a meal of the noodles with sides such as gyoza or stir-fried pork with garlic chives. It’s also an option for dining solo.
